Nike Air Jordan 5 Retro - "Satin Bred"
After being used for a luxe take on the “Shattered Backboard” Jordan 1s in May, Jordan Brand is turning to satin again for another one of their classic silhouettes: the Air Jordan 5. The “Satin” Jordan 5s—a prototype colorway from 1990 that never saw a release—prominently features the Jumpman’s classic color combination of black and red that’s been used on everything from the Jordan 4 to the Jordan 11. A luxury black satin upper sits on top of the Jordan 5’s P-51 Mustang-inspired two-tone speckled red and black midsole. Accents are provided by a 3M tongue with a red embroidered Jumpman, tonal black Jumpman detailing on the heel, and a translucent outsole. For a final interesting touch, “Recognize” and “Greatness” are embroidered on the inside of the shoe’s tongues, nodding to Michael Jordan’s iconic legacy.
